Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) or Eternal
Security is a false doctrine that teaches that a Christian cannot ever lose their salvation and end up in Hell, and that all born again Christians will go to Heaven no matter what. Scripture has much to say on the topic and its important that believers know how to rightly divide that truth on this issue.
I do not care if you call me names, or you do not like me, as long I am teaching you the true word of God. I do not care if you tell me, but so and so teach this and that. I will share what the Bible teaches. I love Jesus with all my heart and I know He is God so his teachings come above anyone in the whole world and that is final. I will not teach you something that will send you to hell.
Is there any truth to the notion that once I give my life to God, I face no more jeopardy of Hell? Is it possible that once I obey the Gospel for the first time, I am never again at risk of being condemned?
That is the false conclusion of Calvinism - "Eternal Security" - "Once-saved, always-saved." And thousands upon thousands of ministers now teach it. But "Eternal Security" is "False Security."
"Future sins are already forgiven."
That is a damnable, deceptive,
abominable lie
that will condemn many
unrepentant souls to perdition.
Thousands of these ministers, now millions of Christians say they love Jesus but for some strange reason believe the words of man against the words of Jesus, against the Bible teachings.
The problem is, that many people will believe Christ, and Christ saves for what He did. But what many fail at is, to believe on Christ also means to listen to Christ’s teachings and know them.. And if you don't listen to Christ teachings, and warnings, then you’re setting yourself up for a fall.
Examples of this abound. In Matthew 10:22 Jesus says to His disciples, "But he who endures to the end will be saved." Our Lord repeats the same teaching in his end of the world discourse in Mark 13:13. If these statements do not admit the possibility of falling away then what do they mean? If it is impossible to fall away permanently, these statements would have no meaning. Why would Jesus even have to say them? The context makes clear that it is a warning.
Clearly, each of these passages teach the same thing. (1) You are believers now; (2) But falling away is a very real possibility, so be careful; (3) For only those who continue to believe the Gospel until the end will be partakers of Christ for eternity.
All Christians sin daily and will do so until death, as John himself says in I John 1:8. The sin that John speaks of in the quotation above (1 John 3:9) is the sin that is continued in without repentance. When such unrepentant sin occurs faith eventually dies and Hebrews 10:26-27 applies.
Most people who believe the once saved always saved teaching always will quote the following Bible verse as proof: "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38, 39.
But in fact, is this verse talking about salvation or eternal life at all? No, this verse is clearly talking about God's unconditional love towards man, not unconditional salvation. Salvation is conditional! You might also notice that the word "sin" was not included in the list of things which are unable to separate us from the love of God.
Let look at Jesus teaching:
A example is Luke 8:13. In this passage Jesus is explaining the meaning of the Parable of the Sower, specifically the meaning of the second soil. Our Lord says, "But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the Word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away." Here Jesus says, unmistakably, that it is possible for someone to receive the Gospel, truly believe for a while, but then fall away, because of temptation.
To those who try to say that such people were never really Christian, Jesus words disagree. He says in clear words, that they 'believe for a while " and then 'fall away ". One cannot fall away (the Greek Word here is "aphistemi") from something that one wasn't truly a part of to begin with.
Another example is our Lord's "Steps of Discipline" in Matthew 18:15-18:
If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. But if he does not listen [to you], take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
Notice: Christ is speaking about a fellow Christian (i.e., a "brother/sister") who sins and then refuses to repent. Ultimately, if this erring brother/sister does not "listen" he/she is to be treated as a "Gentile" and "tax collector," in other words, as a non-Christian (see also 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
Jesus said,
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." John 15: 1 - 6
I don't think it is possible to be any plainer. If you do not stay in Christ and in His Word, you will be cut off and cast out. You will die and be destroyed. That is NOT eternal security. That is NOT "once-saved, always-saved."

Many people fervently believe
that once saved, they can never lose their salvation. I pray that those
who do believe it will read the following with an open heart and an open
mind. From my experience, Christians can sin and they often do sin but to believe that a Christian can live any way he or she likes, and still be saved, is dangerous. Committed Christians sin for all sorts of reasons and we are only saved by God’s amazing Grace, not our level of commitment. God knows our true heart!
One example- Hitler at 10 years old was saved and then did all the things he did and ended his life without confessing those sins and committed suicide; is he (Hitler) in heaven?
The doctrine of once saved, always saved is built upon the belief that God’s grace is unconditional. Some say once grace is given, a Christian cannot lose it. But the doctrine of unconditional security ignores the conditional, qualifying statements in Scripture about whom the grace of God saves. Several passages show that our salvation is conditional. We must remain faithful to God.
For instance, the Lord Jesus said in John 8 and verse 51, “Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he will never see death.” But what happens if a person stops keeping God’s Word? The Lord said in John 15, verses 1 to 2, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.” Now, when a branch in Christ no longer bears fruit, it’s taken away. And then John 15, verse 6 says, “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.” Well, this is the end of a Christian who will not bear fruit.

Think and pray about this one message from Jesus below my OSAS friends. You cannot say a simple prayer like all these watered down teachers teach you and continue with the same old life like millions do. Millions get hurt in this life I know I have but until you take it to the cross and dump it there and forgive and get on with life you CANNOT EXPECT OUR FATHER TO FORGIVE.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Scriptural refutation of "eternal Security"
Following is a very simple chart which refutes the doctrine of "Once saved, always saved." As you will notice, we have selected the passages which clearly demonstrate that the inspired writers were referring to Christians (children of God). This destroys the very convenient dodge: "If they are lost, they weren't saved to begin with" and/or "If one is a child of God, he could never cease to become a child of God." As shown in the chart, among other things, a child of God can become an "accursed child." Please carefully examine all the passages given in the chart. As shown in those verses, the inspired writers are referring to children of God. Things Children of God Can Do:
1. Fall from grace - Gal. 5:1-4,13
2. Be led away with error - 2 Pet. 3:17
3. Err from the truth - James 5:19-20
4. Weak brother may perish - 1 Cor. 8:11
5. Fall into condemnation - James 5:12
6. Be moved away from the hope - Col. 1:21-23
7. Deny the Lord who bought them - 2 Pet. 2:1
8. Depart from the living God - Heb. 3:12
9. Can be a castaway - 1 Cor. 9:27
10. Can become accursed children - 2 Pet. 2:14

Other scriptural arguments that refute "Eternal Security" The fact the Bible exhorts to faithfulness proves one can be lost
God’s Word makes the contrast abundantly clear: Obey the Lord, reap Heaven. Disobey the Lord, reap Hell.
Let’s sow wisely, then. And teach correct doctrine so that others will be saved as well.
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
This is the verse of all verses that destroys the doctrine of OSAS. It's painfully obvious here that if you remove the words from the book of Revelation then YOU WILL have your part in the book of life removed.
This false doctrine of greasy grace teaches that once you have accepted Christ as your saviour, you need not do anything more for the rest of your life, because your one little moment of faith has sealed you for all eternity. You've got your free ticket to heaven.
The security-in-sin or once saved always saved teachers are spiritually dangerous people. Besides all of the other grievous declarations they make, some have also gone so far as to say that a Christian's future sins are already forgiven, even before they are committed. Don't be deceived by the DANGEROUS eternal security teachers.
One of the primary arguments the eternal security teachers use to support the widespread belief that a saved person can be wicked, ungodly, vile, unfruitful, negligent and the like, without losing salvation is 1 Corinthians. 3:11-15. That is their saved so as by fire argument.
Now listen closely. How many people who have been saved actually live Holy lives?
How many actually act like true Bible Christians?
The truth is many of these people who are so called OSAS believers, return to their sins. They believe that if a man commits adultery on his wife and dies in that sin he will go to heaven after all OSAS.
There will be a preacher standing before his dead body actually telling you the date that man was saved and when he joined the Church.
They will tell you that the drunk who was OSAS will enter into the kingdom of heaven.
They will tell you that the fornicator who was once saved will go to heaven because he was OSAS. Including the homosexuals of today, they are even saved if they ask Jesus to come into their lives at one of these altars or churches.
Though popular, eternal security is an ear-tickling poisonous LIE often wrongly taught under grace, the infinite work of Christ and Jesus' blood, which has caused MULTITUDES of unwary Christians to lower their guard and fall prey to spiritual death. under their so-called carnal Christian label! Such people are actually described in 2 Peter 2:20-22, but too spiritually blinded to recognize it.
If I cannot lose salvation:
Why should I ask forgiveness?
Why should I repent?
Why should I do any works for the kingdom of God?
Why obey the commandments?
- be steadfast immovable: 1 Corinthians 15:58
- If these qualities are yours...2 Peter 1:5-11
- we will reap if we do not grow weary: Galatians 6:9
- be faithful unto death and I will give crown of life: Revelation 2:10
- practice these things and God will be with you: Philemon 4:9
God’s Word makes the contrast abundantly clear: Obey the Lord, reap Heaven. Disobey the Lord, reap Hell.

If a Christian can’t lose their salvation, why did JESUS say these words to His Disciples: — “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” (Matt 10,32-33)
— “If you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” (Mark 11, 25-26)
If a Christian can’t lose their salvation, why did PAUL write these: — “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons” (I Timothy 4:1)
— “For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them.” (Eph 5, 5-7)

For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, Hebrews 10:26
Christ can only die once for your sins. If you reject, mock, or deny His free gift. He will not crawl back on the cross and do it all over again
When Jesus said “It is finished” He was referring to HIS perfect work of redemption and NOT your personal responsibility to die to self and follow Him! Yes “by faith” and if you have true, Heaven bound, saving faith, you will have the good fruit of good works. Why then would He have given you things to do? Why His many commands to be obeyed by those who truly love Him?
The possession of salvation is not automatically eternal. Why then would Jesus have told us – His own – that we must “endure to the end to be saved”? (Matthew. 10:22; 24:13) What else could this possibly mean than if we do not continue with Him to the end of our lives on this earth, that we will not be saved?

Many church people believe they can never ever lose their salvation because they are His sheep and `no one can pluck them from Jesus hand`, even no matter if unrepentant sins may be in their lives. They believe if they are continuing in sins they will lose rewards in Heaven but not go to Hell. Stop dear friend and re-consider exactly what Jesus said ….
John 10, 27-30 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone pluck them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to pluck (snatch) them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”
Consider 2 things, the conditions Jesus gave, and what he did & didn't say.
1. His conditions stated in vs27 were that to be counted as His sheep you must hear Him, be known by Him and follow Him. He previously stated that no one can serve two masters, one cannot serve sin and follow Jesus at the same time. If you are continuing in any sins then you aren't following Jesus, you are following sin and heading to where sinners go unless repentance. Some clear examples of this is where Jesus said to his disciples – if you call someone a fool you are in danger of Hellfire, if you look with lust its adultery in the heart and without radical repentance would end up in Hell, having un-forgiveness would block receiving forgiveness from God (end up in Hell), and many other examples. Next, to Hear his voice, surely we must hear and obey His word to be counted as His Sheep. And to be Known by Him – He said that if we had lawlessness in our lives He would say He never knew us and to depart from Him on the judgment day (Matt 7). So we see that this wonderful promise of security is conditional on following Him in obedience, its not unconditional, and we are accountable.
2. He also said he nobody can pluck you out of His hand or the Fathers hand, and its true – no body, no man can, even satan cannot, praise God, BUT He didn't not say you could not choose to leave the hand yourself by your own free will choices. He even gave his disciples this option in John 6,67 asking if they also wanted to leave. Again if someone chooses to follow sin rather than God’s word , they are choosing to come out of his hand, and if they stay out by continued unrepentant sin, they will be disqualified from heaven and salvation, and be cast into Hell. As Jesus said `Unless you repent , you will likewise perish`.
3. The Lord will never leave us or forsake us, but we can leave him and forsake HIm. If a Christian ends up in Hell it is not the fault of God or for lack of His help. His grace is sufficient to help us walk this out. But we can by our own free choice forsake Him, depart from Him by following sin, and choose to love the world rather than Him. As the Bible says – Roman 6,17 “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?”.
Don't trust in a doctrine of theologians , but trust only in God’s word and believe it as its written. For it is to this Word that we will be called to give an account of our lives at His judgment seat. No Pastor , theologian or person will be there to explain away or water down His word then, but all will be laid bare before Him to whom we must give account.
